The new Ford Transit Double Cab-in-Van has all the features of Transit van but with the added benefit of second-row seating and a secure load area for all your tools. The Ford Transit Double Cab-in-Van will be available on selected Transit van models and consists of the standard van specification, but with twin glazed side load doors, second row of three seats- all with lap and diagonal belts – and a glazed bulkhead behind the site door line. This provides you with a tax efficient method of carrying six people in a van, as the vehicle will have a gross payload of over one tonne, therefore VAT is recoverable.
Standard Transit Van Features
Security features on Ford Transit Double Cab-in-Van are also the same as in the Ford Transit range and include a lock-in-latch system, which makes it extremely difficult for thieves to gain entry, remote keyless entry and engine immobiliser.
'Construction and Local Authority customers have always had the need to get work crews and their equipment safely and securely to their work sites. This new VAT-efficient vehicle will enable them to do so in a fully manufacturer warranted special vehicle that has a fully secured load space behind the passenger area that can accommodate a crew of up to six including the driver.' said Steve Parker, commercial vehicles director, Ford of Britain.
Prices for Transit Double-Cab-in-Van will be released in Summer 2002 when the vehicle goes on sale.
